For my latest installment of “5 Reasons Why” I would like to look at 5 reasons you should be trying the MeeTime project management and meetings application. Unless we are calling the meeting any other meeting is probably a time waster – right? The only good meetings are our own meetings for our own purpose. But everyone probably feels that way so climb aboard and let's checkout why you need to at least give MeeTime a look... MeeTime is a beautiful timer app to make meetings less soul-crushing. Let's consider these 5 reasons why...

Gorgeous visual representation of your meetings. MeeTime’s main screen for helping you run your meetings on time features a large decreasing circle depicting the time running out of your current agenda item, as well as an increasing blue bar showing how far through your total meeting time you are. The current agenda starts green, changes to amber with five minutes to go, changes to red at two minutes left and flashes if your current agenda runs over.

MeeTime reminds you why you are spending your time meeting. To ensure accountability and effectiveness, MeeTime asks for a purpose for your meeting as well as a purpose for each agenda and a “directly responsible individual.” All of these are displayed when you are in your meeting so there is no doubt what the outcome required is and who is on point at each section of the meeting.

MeeTime helps you always finish on time. Even a skilled meeting facilitator needs to manage fluid agenda timings once the meeting is in progress. This can be difficult if you are also performing other roles in the meeting, such as taking minutes or making sure people stay on topic. Worry no more. With MeeTime’s “Auto Time Remaining” setting, whether you run over or finish an agenda item early, MeeTime will apportion the shortfall in time proportionally across the rest of your agenda timings, making sure you always finish on time.

MeeTime starts automatically. Unlike any other timer apps on the market, MeeTime was made specifically for meetings and presentations. As such, if you have scheduled a meeting for 2 pm, it doesn’t matter that you have not started the meeting yet - time is still ticking away. MeeTime starts on time automatically, whether the meeting does or not, so you can see when time is being wasted.

It can work for your organization. MeeTime is already being used by employees in big organizations including Goldman Sachs, Rolls Royce, Nielsen, Hewlett Packard, DXC and Molson Coors, among others. It can work for your organization too and for less than a cup of coffee you don’t need to save much time to get a return on your investment. Why not give it a try?
