Hundreds of project management solutions abound in our congested world of software available at every and any price level – for the desktop or as web-based solutions…or both.  Some do the job, some are wannabees.  In my new series of project reviews and overviews I am going to focus on many of these products and give you “5 Reasons Why…” you should be trying this software out.  Believe me, if I’m writing about it, then I believe in it and think you should at least give it a chance.  I will definitely not be including any PM and PM-related software options that I think will be a waste of your time.

For my first installment of what a I hope to be a popular and well-read / followed series, I want to look at Workamajig – a popular project management software platform that touts themselves as being the first web-based system ever built for the creative industry.  Workamajig works for all types of organizations, but the cold hard fact is this…20% of the Fortune 500 companies use Workamajig’s marketing management software for their in-house departments. That makes Workamajig the best and most selected advertising agency software on the market.

Now let’s focus on the 5 key reasons you should check out Workamajig…

Integration.  You can use QuickBooks, Basecamp, Salesforce, MS Project, Dropbox and ProofHQ. All at once. Or you can use Workamajig. I prefer the simplified approach and I think you will, too.

Digital Proofing.  If you work in the creative and ad industry, you know what a hassle it can be to get detailed client feedback on a proof. Workamajig manages it all for you in online digital simplicity.  You have to try it to really believe it.

Project Management.  See who's working on it, who has it, where it's going, when it's due, how far along it is, what's coming up, what's outstanding, what's been paid and how much easier your job is thanks to Workamajig.  I’ve had to build intricate filters in other software to figure just half of these out.  Workamajig has it all built in from the beginning.

Change Orders.  Nothing comes out exactly right the first time. Communicate and track change orders in one place with one integrated tool.  Again, I usually have had to create Excel spreadsheets to track change orders.  With Workmajig, it is all integrated into the tool.

Resource Management.  Have every staff member, assignment, schedule and projection filed and organized without memorizing it. Because that's Workamajig's job.  Workamajig does this flawlessly – I was impressed with how detailed the reporting and oversight was for it’s resource management functionality.

Ready to try it?

So, did I convince you to give it a try?  Feel free to contact me with any questions about this review.  My suggestion is that you give it a try by first requesting a demo.  Workamajig is staffed with top-notch and very responsive individuals and I know the CEO personally…they stand behind their product and are very proud of it’s functionality.  And while you are there, let them know what you think of their site – they just rolled out a new version this past month.  I think you’ll enjoy the visit.
