What do we do next? I already know I'm not going anywhere and I can't go anywhere. We have a young son recently diagnosed with Leukemia in March of this year so we have to keep him as health and isolated as possible while he's receiving intense chemotherapy treatments and we have other small children at home as well. We go to the clinic or hospital and that's about it. But I already worked from home and so does my wife... so our lifestyles haven't changed that much.
These numbers aren't going to go away. They are only going to go up. Experts are predicting US fatalities from COVID-19 to reach and average of 1,600 daily between now and February 1st. Do we lockdown again? How hard because the first lockdown helped, but wasn't strict enough to win - it only slowed the virus and devastated the US economy forcing many businesses to close permanently and many to become permanently - not temporarily - unemployed.
Thoughts? If you were in charge, how would you respond. We have the election, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's all coming up. Do we shutdown tight, shutdown loosely, hope for herd immunity or just proceed as is and watch numbers go out of control while we overload hospitals once again? In the US, 21 states are seeing their highest 7 day averages of new cases since the pandemic began in February.
If it was your call, what would you do?
