Professional Services

As a professional IT consultant with more than 25 years experience in business and IT, there are many ways I can help you grow your organization, create and implement new strategies, rollout projects and products, lead customer implementations from beginning to end, rescue troubled engagements, or draw traffic to your website, service and products.  This page contains several of those options, but in the creative world of consulting, there are always more.  If you need something that isn't listed here, contact me.

The ways I can work with you generally fall into two major categories.  1) Helping you promote your products or services to the relevant masses OR 2) Consulting with you on a strategy, process, issue, or major project. Let's examine these further and what I can offer in each category:

Category 1 - Promoting Your Products/Services

Expert Written Content for Your Product or Services Site

I can write expert articles for your site.  This is the most common scenario when your need is to increase traffic to your site and product offering.  You create a spot on your site for my articles and I write anywhere from 1 to 4 or 5 articles per week to be placed there.  For a project management-oriented site (the most common) I write PM topical articles (fixing failed projects, creating a viable PMO, characteristics of a good project manager, etc.) that people - especially project management professionals - want to read.  I can also write business strategy and business technology articles.

NOTE:  As a
VALUE ADDED BONUS - I promote all content that I create and post for you. I tweet about them to my followers and I get quite a few retweets meaning the article links reach thousands within a few hours.  I also belong to 30+ project management and consulting LinkedIn groups and I promote the articles there as well.  I also started a PM Facebook group called Project Managers using Social Media and I link articles to those members as well.

Articles are generally in the 500-700 word range and compensation will be discussed upon contact. The key is to create fresh and interesting content for your readers on a regular basis so that people eventually come on their own, not just because there's a tweet about it.  At a minimum, one per week.  Some clients have me do a daily article.  I'd recommend 2-3 per week but it's entirely up to you.  These would all be original articles, but we can work out reprints of some of my past articles for a lesser price (I do have reprint permission with some of my clients).

Product Promotion on BradEgeland.com

You write periodic articles (once per month recommended, at a minimum) about your products - overall functionality, new features, etc.  I will post it and promote it just as stated above.  You can make it as long or short as you wish and include images.  If you want to give me articles on a more regular basis, we can discuss a lesser rate.

Ad(s) on BradEgeland.com

We can advertise your site/product on my website.  I'll periodically promote it through Twitter.  You can put the ad on one page, two pages, or  more.  Contact me for current prices.Note: Ad prices do sometimes increase over time, but if you place one or more ads on my site, I guarantee your ad price will never change as long as you continue to renew prior to your expiration date (I will send out reminders during the month prior to expiration).Contact me for current prices or to discuss further.

Category 2 - Consulting on Your Need, Strategy, or Project

Remote Consultation

You have a problem that needs fixed, a situation that needs resolved, or you just need an expert consultation for a brief period to get your organization headed in the right direction.  I'm available for a phone consultation at a set hourly rate.  I've helped many clients in this manner and I'm available to help you.

Two-Day Onsite Consultation

This actually can be one day, two days, three days or even a week if that's what it takes.  But the most common scenario is drive or fly in Day 1, meet, discuss and plan.  Meet and resolve on Day 2, and fly or drive out.  The idea is to set a strategy in motion to resolve your business or project need.  If more time and effort is needed beyond this during the remainder of your project, it can usually be handled as a Remote Consultation (see above) unless it becomes obvious during the two-day session that a Long-Term Engagement is necessary (see below).

Long-Term Engagement

This is the hardcore, project leadership scenario.  This is what I've done most of my professional life.  My project leadership skills - as well as my customer interface skills - will greatly enhance your chances of a successful solution deployment.  This will be a mix of remote and onsite project leadership at an hourly rate plus expenses and will require some advanced notice to ensure and secure my availability for your engagement.  However, no project is too short or too long to be considered.
